History

Northeastern Academy, a private co-educational school, is owned and operated by the Northeastern Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.  The school is operated as a day academy offering a sound secondary education covering grades 9 - 12.  The institution, organized in 1920 was known as Harlem Academy.  Later the name was changed to Harlem Junior Academy, and finally the present-day name, Northeastern Academy.  In 1946, the Northeastern Conference re-organized the school and, one year later, purchased a building at 806 Jennings Street in the Bronx, New York.  Later the Academy was moved to 1122 Forest Avenue.  The present Academy builiding located at 532 West 215th Street was purchased in September, 1974.
